Andreas Claussen
THERE IS A TOOL FOR EVERY JOB
In THERE IS A TOOL FOR EVERY JOB, the astronaut stands armed — not just with weapons, but with ambiguity. Slung across his back: a pink inflatable flamingo, a baseball bat, a rifle, a garden hose. Each object a symbol, each gesture part theatre.
Claussen’s figure becomes a patchwork of preparedness and irony, a responder to all crises and none. Is this survival, or satire?
The work explores the absurd logic of contemporary toolkits — emotional, physical, political — asking what we choose to carry, and what we pretend will help.
