Andreas Claussen
TOO PREPARED
A blue unicorn. A yellow duck. An astronaut unable to move.
In TOO PREPARED, Claussen’s iconic figure floats awkwardly atop two inflatable animals—over-equipped, under-effective. The composition reverses the usual narrative of resilience found throughout the series, showing instead a body paralyzed by its own protective measures.
The dual inflatables become symbols of excess and over-engineering, while the limp posture suggests fatigue, confusion, and ironic helplessness. Where other astronauts adapt, this one is stalled—lost not to danger, but to the burden of preparation.
